Good morning folks! it is time again for a new episode of 'EP conquering the world' and this week's destination is EDINBURGH!
let's begin with the departure then ^^ we were supposed to start off at 7am on saturday, all of us were there, the bus was there BUT olivier was missing (head of interlink). so we were waiting like half an hour in the figgin' cold until we were allowed to enter the bus and it took them another 20 minutes to actually start off
the bus trip was fun although most of them were asleep and it seemed like only virgile and me were entertaining everyone with our conversation (additionally we were nearly the only ones talking english) however, we had a break (as if we needed one) after 2 hours and stopped at a dodgy little restaurant. very dear (in the meaning of bloody expensive and gross food) franc managed to get an egg sandwich for free
when we finally arrived at the scottish border the other bus driver thought it would be a great idea to give them a feeling of scottish history, so we had another half an hour stop looking at some cliff and olivier thought he would be funny...he's not.
In the end we arrived after like 5 hours (for a trip that normally takes 3
) our youth hostel was...well...a youth hostel. we've all seen one in our life and they all look pretty much the same disgusting way, don't they? dunno why i expected normal toilets or showers
after we all got rid of our luggage we decided it would be time to grab some food! *yay* unfortunately we couldn't agree on one kind, so we had to split up. claire, virgile and me were done first, so we went to check out some stores. guess what happened? we put EP in a kilt!
isn't he cute?
while spending some time looking for the others we discovered that in edinburgh every parrallel street has the same shops! everywere starbucks and TGI fridays and prete a manger...that's why the explanation 'we're next to starbucks' was a bit confusing...^^
we then went to the tourist information trying to find out what to do next. the edinburgh dungeon sounded like fun (according to alex) again, we split up so there was half of us queuing for 2 hours (including me), spending 10 quid on the most stupid thing i've ever done (at least as far as i can remember)and feeling totally stupid afterwards. well, we had some fun, but not due to the dungeon.
anyway, we met up with the others again and went to a gay café! how cool is that?
franc was totally flirting with the bar tender
looks quite scary, but it was a nice atmosphere, i think. we got some dinner, went back to the hostel and then went to explore edinburgh's nightlife
sounds like fun, but we had some misunderstandings (or so) however, we ended up in a karaoke bar and no, i did not wanna go there, but yes, i ended up singing 'zombie'
with alex, the coward who didn't really sing
well, it was kinda boring though and most of us were fed up, so we didn't go to a club afterwards (not in the mood) but alex, franc and thomas obviously went to the graveyard and had some fun.
we went back to the hostel because the night was supposed to be slightly different...never mind, we had to get up at 9 anyway. as soon as we went to bed and everything was quiet someone started to snore like hell! and virgile, who was sleeping in the bed next to mine, asked me 'is it claire?' she answered in french something like 'no, it is not' was very funny
turned out it was the guy sleeping in the bed that actually was supposed to be claire's. he didn't stop no matter what we tried until virgile banged really loud against the metal of his bed
it went quiet and we went to sleep. until the others arrived from the cemetery. as soon as they were in bed the guy started snoring again! franc then took his mobile, turned the light on and went really close to him to see who it was. then he said 'there's 2 in there!' just like a child...hilarious
some funny stories, in the end we were all sleeping til the next morning and not too awake when it was time for breakfast. (yuck btw...youth hostels *shiver*) on sunday we went to see edinburgh castle and it was really great. very funny and lots to see.

i've got tons of pictures but i'll show the funny ones to you ^^ did you know that there is a royal dog cemetery? no? well, there is!
and the prisons looked more like an ancient youth hostel imho

and alex was trying to re-enact 'prison break'
yup, we had some fun *lol* afterwards we just went to get some cofee, go shopping and got back on the bus for another 4 hours bus drive (we didn't take as many breaks this time)
well, this weekend was kinda weird, but i liked it
as a result there's now three languages in my head working as one (english, french, german) i even dreamed in french! bloody hell... on monday it was a bit hard to get back to english all the time
and there's so much to do *sigh* well, thx to sarah for her message, miss u, too
have some fun this week! i'll try to leave another entry on thursday (wednesday's a horror day again
)
cya!
because this weekend was something special i don't have a song but a word for you
this weekend's word was 'charretting' (you may guess what it means in your comments if you like to
)
